We have kindly supported Outward Bound with a $1000 donation to help students reach their full potential through challenges in the outdoors. Their classrooms are the mountains, bush and waterways and we love the work that they do.
As a mark of appreciation, Outward Bound planted a tree for us in Anakia which will also help enhance biodiversity in this special place.
In total, 60 commemorative trees have been planted. Outward Bound chose 6 different natives, one native species for each decade and 10 each. The species they planted included Kahikatea, Kowhai, Kānuka & Titoki. Our native tree will permanently entwine our legacy with that of Outward Bound and will be a place of shelter and contemplation for our future alumni.
The 60th Anniversary Outward Bound course is all set to go ahead in September. In appreciation of our donation, Outward Bound Chief Executive Malindi MacLean said “this course would not be possible without your gift. We look forward to reporting to you on this course and the impact you have made on the lives of the 14 students who attend.”
